Development Director
Position Summary
The Director of Development will spearhead development efforts as The Alexander Foundation continues to grow. The Development Director will work closely with the Marketing and Communications Director, Events Director, and the rest of the Board of Directors to develop fundraising goals, strategy, and increase annual foundation revenue.
Expectations

Estimated Time Commitment: 8-12 hours per month

Financial Commitment: Board members of the Alexander Foundation are expected to contribute a minimum of $500 annually, which can be fulfilled through direct donations or by raising funds through various activities. This commitment helps ensure the foundation's sustainability and supports its mission effectively.

Leadership: Serve as the strategic leader of your area to the Board of Directors.

Fundraising: Soliciting donations, identifying potential sponsors, and networking with donors, supporting events, etc. (see above statement for Financial Commitment).

Public Profile: Serve as an ambassador for the organization: articulate The Alexander Foundation’s mission, accomplishments, and goals, and solicit feedback and concerns related to The Alexander Foundation’s mission.
Responsibilities

Secure financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporations.

Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with key donor groups and major donors.

In partnership with the Events Director, coordinate events to support donor relations and development of new donors as well as oversee the maintenance of general and/or event sponsorship packets.

Develop and support a working group of volunteer committee members to accomplish the goals and responsibilities for your area.

Develop and maintain processes to manage donor database, data entry, and gift processing.

Provide support to Board of Directors, Committee Members, and Volunteers in fundraising efforts.

Fundraise on behalf of The Alexander Foundation: soliciting donations, identifying potential sponsors, and networking with donors.
